Financial Wellness Specialist
As a Financial Wellness Specialist at Publix Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU), you will play a key role in delivering our mission to improve financial literacy and member well-being. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver in-person workshops within Publix facilities, helping associates build knowledge and confidence in managing their finances through one-on-one coaching. You will also serve as a community representative for PEFCU at events where financial education is a focus, helping expand our reach and visibility. In addition, you will support the management of our online education platform and assist with tracking and reporting program participation and impact. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education, community outreach, and member empowerment.
What you will do…
- Support the daily maintenance and usability of PEFCU’s online financial education platform by ensuring content is accurate, accessible, and up to date.
- Contribute to the development of educational content in a variety of formats, including presentation materials, digital content, and printed resources, to support program delivery and outreach.
- Work closely with the Assistant Department Manager and other financial wellness team members to implement programs and initiatives aligned with PEFCU’s financial wellness strategy.
- Deliver engaging in-person financial education workshops at Publix facilities, with a focus on helping associates build essential money management skills.
- Represent PEFCU at community events and partner engagements where financial education is a central focus, promoting awareness and encouraging participation.
- Assist in the delivery of virtual workshops and webinars covering key financial wellness topics such as budgeting, saving, credit management, and debt reduction.
- Collect and organize data related to program participation, event attendance, and member feedback to support department reporting and performance tracking.
- Assist in coordinating logistics for financial education events and programs, including scheduling, materials prep, and on-site setup or virtual hosting support.
- Stay informed on basic financial wellness trends and tools to support continuous learning and enhance the member experience during workshops and events.
- Travel up to 25% of the time.
What you need....
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial education, community outreach, or related roles focused on delivering educational programs.
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong Communication and Presentation Skills: Ability to convey financial information clearly and simply to diverse audiences, making complex concepts accessible and engaging.
- Passion for Financial Education: Genuine enthusiasm for helping members improve their financial knowledge and confidence through education and outreach.
- Foundational Financial Literacy: Solid understanding of key personal finance topics such as budgeting, saving, credit management, debt reduction, and basic investing.
- Workshop Facilitation: Experience or comfort with leading in-person educational sessions and supporting virtual learning environments
- Customer Service Orientation: Skilled at interacting with members and community participants in a friendly, supportive, and professional manner.
- Content Support and Development: Ability to assist in creating and updating educational materials across multiple formats, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Data Collection and Reporting Assistance: Capable of gathering and organizing program data, event attendance, and participant feedback to support evaluation efforts.
- Team Collaboration: Works effectively with department leadership and internal partners to deliver seamless educational programming.
