Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary

PSEG is looking for an Intern for the Transmission Planning Department

This job involves working as a(n) intern to support three separate groups of engineers responsible for the planning of the LIPA transmission and distribution system. The intern will support work largely including, but not limited to :

• Overall coordination and compliance of elements to applicable criteria and reliability standards,
• Incremental work associated with development of various aspects of LIPA / PSEGLI Distributed System Platform (DSP),
• notably to support various engineering and analytical effort to realize system optimizations associated with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)

This position will be Hybrid schedule; the office is located in Hicksville, NY location.

Job Responsibilities

Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas :

This position offers challenging opportunities and problem solving scenarios where the intern will be able to incorporate and observe his or her creative ideas come to fruition. The position pioneers the future by recommending, analyzing and integrating various innovative technologies into the system. On the job training and adequate guidance are provided to engineers as needed.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required education / skills :

The successful candidate(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering and graduating between December 2025 and May 2027. Students graduating in May / June 2025 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2025. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Candidates must have completed Sophomore level course work for consideration.
