POSITION: Family Engagement Specialist
SALARY: $4,955.19 monthly - Starting Salary
LOCATION: Central Office
REPORTS TO: Superintendent and Chief Communications Officer

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Willingness to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work with people; strong interpersonal skills.
- Three years of professional experience, preferably in a public education environment.
General Duties:
- Serve as a liaison between the school and the parent/families of the school.
- Coordinates the development and delivery of core family engagement efforts and meet federal requirements.
- Promote positive parenting throughout the school campuses by providing training opportunities for parents/guardians on strategies to promote student success.
- Provide timely and relevant information to parents/guardians concerning school and district activities, operations, procedures to improve home/school communication.
- Make personal contacts through a variety of modalities (electronic, face-to-face, home visits, etc.) to encourage parental engagement.
- Research collect, organize and coordinate resource materials and activities to facilitate parental involvement and engagement in their child’s education, under the direction of the assistant superintendent.
- Participate in campus-based outreach activities, such as curriculum nights, special events, PTA meetings, etc.
- Develop and execute programs and initiatives to enhance services and strengthen relationships between school and home.
- Develops a wide array of partnerships, with community-based organizations, programmatic partners, faith-based organizations, corporations, governmental agencies, and cultural institutions to improve program offerings to families.
- Conducts family engagement research and evaluates the effectiveness of family engagement programming.
- Maintains accurate data on family engagement initiatives and tracks progress to ensure District Improvement Plan goals are met.
- Provides training and resources to school personnel to build the capacity of educators and help build partnerships with families.
- Provides resources and support to school personnel to support family engagement efforts and meet federal requirements.
- Advocate for student/family need.
- Maintain diplomacy, poise, and professionalism under pressure.
- Demonstrate an excellent level of cultural acceptance and inclusion.
- Have a superior understanding of District policy, Student Code of Conduct, and Student Handbook.
- Carries our duties assigned by the Assistant Superintendent as required to meet district goals and objectives.
- Performs other related work assigned, including work during evenings and on weekends.
