Job Description:  The Public Schools of Brookline seeks a Math Specialist working at both the Lincoln School and the Ruffin Ridley School.  This is a full-time position split 0.5/0.5 between the two schools.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting K-8 classroom teachers with understanding of math content and pedagogical knowledge through collaborative coaching, unit planning, differentiated instruction, and ongoing assessment;
  • Supporting a diverse range of learners from interventions to extensions in mathematics in the classroom and small groups;
  • Maintaining a mathematically literate school culture
  • Collaborating with other math specialists to review curricular resources, design professional development, and analyze data.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong Math content knowledge
  • Massachusetts Teacher Certification with SEI endorsement or additional license in ESL
  • Math Certification, 1-6 or 5-8. Teachers who have certification in grades 1-6 and have passed the 1-6 math MTEL will be considered

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
