Mobile Security Patrol Officer – Graveyard (Company Vehicle)
Indio / Coachella Valley Area
Public Safety Services is currently seeking a reliable and professional Mobile Security Patrol Officer to perform overnight patrols throughout the Indio and surrounding Coachella Valley area.
This position involves operating a company patrol vehicle and conducting security patrols at multiple client properties throughout the shift. The ideal candidate will be dependable, observant, and comfortable working independently during overnight hours.
This position is best suited for individuals who are comfortable working alone and driving between multiple properties throughout the night.
Starting pay is $17.00 per hour, increasing to $17.40 per hour after successful completion of the probationary period.
Schedule
This is a graveyard / overnight patrol position.
Typical shifts range from approximately 8 to 10 hours depending on patrol assignments and client needs. As with most security positions, schedules can occasionally adjust based on coverage needs or client requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct mobile patrols of assigned properties using a company patrol vehicle
- Patrol various client locations such as apartment communities, shopping centers, business plazas, gas stations, and other commercial properties
- Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations
- Perform perimeter checks and general property inspections
- Check doors, gates, and access points to ensure security
- Respond to service calls from dispatch or clients when necessary
- Maintain communication with dispatch throughout the shift
- Complete incident reports and patrol activity logs
- Provide a visible security presence to help deter theft, vandalism, and trespassing
- Assist with rule enforcement at client properties when necessary
- Operate company patrol vehicles safely and in accordance with company policy
Work Environment
This position involves working alone during overnight hours and traveling between multiple client properties throughout the shift.
Officers must remain alert, dependable, and capable of managing responsibilities independently. Patrol activity may be monitored through GPS and patrol tracking systems to help ensure coverage of assigned properties.
Requirements
- Valid California Guard Card (required)
- Valid California driver license
- Good driving record required
- Must be able to qualify under company vehicle insurance in order to operate a patrol vehicle
- Ability to work overnight / graveyard shifts
- Reliable transportation to and from the patrol vehicle location
- Strong observation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Professional demeanor and good customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous security patrol experience
- Experience working overnight shifts
- Familiarity with two-way radio communication and radio etiquette
- Experience writing incident reports
Reliability Expectations
Because this is an overnight patrol position, reliability and punctuality are very important. Officers must be able to consistently report to scheduled shifts and perform their duties independently.
Professional Conduct
Patrol officers are expected to remain attentive while on duty. Personal phone use should be limited to breaks or emergencies.
