About This Opportunity

Hiring a motivated, detail-oriented Metal Finishing Technician to apply finishes to metal parts using polishing and buffing tools and compounds. The role involves finishing parts made of brass, bronze, aluminum, stainless steel, and pewter, inspecting parts for quality, following written and verbal instructions, maintaining a clean work area, and wearing PPE at all times. The environment is industrial, dusty, and physically demanding, with repetitive tasks and standing for most of the shift.

Assignment Details

Pay: $16.00-$17.00/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM

Assignment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Pre Employment Requirements

• Drug Screen Required
• Background Check Required
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Client Interview Required
• Must be able to communicate in English

Responsibilities

• Operate polishing and buffing equipment, including wheels and various abrasive compounds, to apply specific finishes to parts made of brass, bronze, aluminum, stainless steel, and pewter.
• Perform surface preparation, cleaning, and finishing work on metal components according to required specifications.
• Inspect parts during and after finishing to ensure quality standards are met.
• Follow verbal and written instructions to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, including safety glasses and dust masks (provided by the company).

• Hand tools

Work Environment and Dress Code

• Industrial/manufacturing setting
• PPE required, including:
  • Safety glasses
  • Closed toed shoes
  • Dust masks
• Dress Code: Jeans, work boots, T-shirt with nothing vulgar, older clothes due to dirty environment

• Ability to follow instructions carefully and work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new skills.
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable transportation

Preferred Requirements

• Prior experience in metal finishing or working in an industrial/manufacturing setting is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Standing for entire shift
• Must be able to lift as needed
• Not much moving around, must be comfortable with staying in one place
