Position Summary
Public House seeks a Dishwasher for efficient and sanitary dish cleaning, ensuring these are ready for service according to health and safety standards. This role will load and unload dishwashing machines, monitor the cleanliness of machines, ensure dish cleanliness, and properly dry and store clean dishes in designated areas. This role requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and a basic understanding of sanitation and hygiene practices. This part time, seasonal role starts at $18-$20/hour, depending on qualifications. The summer season runs June-October.
Position Purpose
To load and unload dishwashing machines, wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils by hand when necessary, maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, follow sanitation standards, and ensure dishes are properly dried and stored, all while adhering to kitchen safety protocols.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
- Load and unload dishwashing machines properly.
- Wash dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, and pans by hand when required.
- Monitor the cleanliness of the dishwashing machine and change water as needed.
- Ensure dishes are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to company standards.
- Properly dry and store clean dishes in designated areas
Special Position Requirements
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of sanitation and hygiene practices.
Preferences
- High school diploma or GED.
- Hospitality industry experience, especially kitchen experience.
- Current food handler’s card and other certifications as required by federal, state, or local law.
Work Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
