What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counselor, Mental Health position at Public Health, Delta & Menominee Counties?
Public Health, Delta & Menominee Counties has an opening for a part-time or full-time Mental Health Counselor. This position will be located at The Center for Youth Health & Wellness on Bay College's Escanaba campus.
In this position, the Counselor will be responsible for providing individual and group counseling to children and adolescents between 10-21 years of age and their families. The Counselor will also provide consultation and training to the provider team. The Counselor will coordinate behavioral mental health services to the provider team while ensuring and facilitating the achievement of quality health outcomes.
The full-time position includes health, dental and vision insurance coverage, paid vacation, sick and holiday benefits, and a defined benefit pension plan.
Requirements include:
- Possession of a Master's degree in Social Work or related human services area (MSW, LLP, LPC, Ph.D., Psy.D., LLMSW, and LLPC)
- Prefer one year of direct clinical experience, preferably with children/adolescents
- Licensed to practice as a mental health counselor/therapist in Michigan
- Qualified to receive third-party insurance payments for mental health services
- Possess a current, valid driver's license
