What are the responsibilities and job description for the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor position at Public Health, Delta & Menominee Counties?
Public Health Delta & Menominee Counties is seeking a part-time Breastfeeding Peer Counselor for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. The Peer Counselor is a paraprofessional support person who provides basic breastfeeding information, encouragement, and support to pregnant and breastfeeding clients as they begin and continue breastfeeding.
Qualifications
- Personal breastfeeding experience is required.
- Current or former WIC client preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to attend state-required training sessions and conferences.
- High school diploma.
- Valid Michigan driver's license.
