Are you a recent graduate eager to launch your career in the utility and power distribution sector? PTS Advance is hiring an Entry-Level Distribution Designer/Engineer to join our growing team in Tampa, FL!
This is a full-time, onsite position offering hands-on training, mentorship, and the opportunity to work on meaningful infrastructure projects that help power communities.
What Youโll Do:
- Assist in the design of overhead and underground power distribution systems for local tampa clients. (typically 4kVโ35kV).
- Prepare construction drawings and permit packages using AutoCAD, GIS, and utility-specific software.
- Support field walkdowns and site evaluations when needed.
- Interpret and apply utility design standards and local codes.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and utility clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn utility distribution design standards and industry tools.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, or similar drafting/design software (coursework or internship experience is great).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred But Not Required:
- Internship or co-op experience in power systems or infrastructure design.
- Knowledge of NESC standards or experience with utility permitting.
- Exposure to distribution design tools or GIS platforms.
