Contract Specialist – IT Software
Position Overview
The Contract Specialist will be responsible for the solicitation, negotiation, award, and post-award administration of Information Technology software contracts. This role supports day-to-day procurement activities for the IT Software team, with a primary focus on negotiating and executing software-related agreements while ensuring compliance with company policies and procurement standards.
Key Responsibilities
Negotiate, execute, and administer various IT software agreements, including:
Master Agreements
Statements of Work (SOWs)
Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
Proof of Concept Agreements (POCs)
Manage post-execution contract administration activities, including:
Invoice resolution
Contract compliance
Documentation management
Conduct Requests for Proposal (RFPs) using the company’s approved sourcing platform.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance and streamline contracting and procurement processes.
Effectively manage assigned software contract portfolios with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and customer support.
Mitigate procurement risks while optimizing total cost of ownership without compromising value or business objectives.
Maintain accurate contract files and records in accordance with company document retention policies.
Support internal and external audit activities as needed.
Collaborate closely with Legal to ensure compliance with company contractual requirements, clause standards, and applicable legal/regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience negotiating IT software contracts, including:
Master Agreements
SOWs
NDAs
POCs
Preferred Qualifications
Procurement experience within the energy industry.
Proficiency with SAP and Icertis.
Advanced understanding of IT software purchasing channels, including OEMs, resellers, and licensing models.
Strong analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven ability to negotiate effectively and influence critical business decisions.
