POSITION SUMMARY
The Shop Intern position is an entry-level position designed to provide hands-on experience and training. Working with other team members, this position will assist in performing aftermarket installations, quality inspections, service, repair work, wash, detail, and vehicle organization within the yard.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Shop Intern position is an entry-level position designed to provide hands-on experience and training. Working with other team members, this position will assist in performing aftermarket installations, quality inspections, service, repair work, wash, detail, and vehicle organization within the yard.
LOCATION, HOURS, COMPENSATION
- Onsite, Fort Worth, Texas
- Monday through Friday 630am to 230pm
- $17 per hour
- Assist shop technicians with routine maintenance and repairs of rental vehicles.
- Clean and prepare rental vehicles for customer use.
- Perform basic inspections and diagnostics on rental vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
- Learn and adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
- Perform electronic vehicle check-in and check-out inspections via a tablet with close attention to detail.
- Conduct interior and exterior cleaning of off-rented vehicles.
- Complete upfit installations in a timely manner, meeting rental schedule deadlines set by the Department Manager.
- Understand and execute all quality and safety standards regarding installation procedures and best practices, with work performed passing a final quality inspection.
- Perform maintenance work on rental fleet including oil changes, replacing filters and fluids, changing brakes, tire rotations, and mounting and balancing tires.
- Work together with team members and Department Manager to continuously improve installation processes.
MUST HAVE
- Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Troubleshoot basic automotive mechanical and electrical problems.
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team player.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and use a tablet.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Must be able to work both inside the shop environment and outdoors.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
- Implement and uphold 5S principles within the workspace for improved efficiency and organization.
- Previous experience or coursework in automotive or diesel mechanics.
- ASE Certification
