Position: Project Engineer II – Substation
Location Multiple (Baltimore, Baton Rouge, Katy, Raleigh, Charlotte, Summerville, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin) Must be onsite
Salary: $110–140K (flexible) PTO & Benefits
Work Authorization: W2 — US Citizens or Green Card Holders Only
Interview Process: 2 rounds – 1st round virtual and 2nd round in person panel
MUST HAVES
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering
• 2–5 years of applicable engineering experience
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
• Experience supporting substation or renewables engineering (AC/DC, low/medium/high voltage systems)
• Ability to work onsite (initially 5 days/week, then hybrid)
PLUS
• Passed PE exam
• Experience mentoring junior engineers
• Familiarity with solar/wind/BESS interconnection design
JOB DESCRIPTION
Project Engineer II performs a variety of routine engineering tasks providing exposure to company practices, tools, and standards. This role works under close supervision but is expected to show growing independence in executing engineering assignments.
Responsibilities
- Assist in development of plans, specifications, and inspection reports
- Prepare material lists and labor contracts
- Support creation of construction drawings for solar, wind, battery storage, and substation projects
- Provide direction to designers and CAD operators
- Support material purchasing and basic contract administration
- Participate in customer and vendor interactions
- Perform tasks related to physical layout, protection/control/SCADA, relay settings, field support, commissioning, and relay testing
- Train and supervise Project Engineers I
- Use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
