Job Description:
- The main function of a Linguist is to determine language and visual data needs for data-based model and product improvements.
- Provide linguistic expertise, especially in the areas of syntax, semantics, taxonomies, and NLU
- Develop strategies for labeling visual and language data together
- Create guidelines in support of labeling projects that allow vendor labelers to consistently label language, visual, and motion data at quality
- Analyze labeling quality and adjust guidelines as necessary to ensure labeling quality. Enforce labeling standards
- Knowledge of syntax, semantics, and taxonomies
- Ability to work in ambiguous space and develop norms and processes
- Knowledge of prescriptive writing and punctuation conventions for at least one language.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Knowledge in transcription and annotation systems such as SAMPA, IPA and ToBI.
- Knowledge of syntax, semantics, pragmatics, corpus linguistics, and other areas of linguistics
- Experience with SQL, spreadsheets, and other data tools
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Experience with data annotation or labeling
- Programming SQL like to have Python experience
- Technical writing skills
- Design and conduct experiments for evaluating data quality
- Programming experience such as python, PHP, or JavaScript Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, language technologies, computational linguistics, or related field. occasion
- Quality assurance
- Chat bot system
- Developing guidelines to produce data with nuance requirements, auditing data that has been labeled, driving quality metrics and reporting those out, may be doing some things natural lounge understanding development role and model based.
- Remote Anywhere in US but prefer Remote, Redmond, Burlingame, or NY that way they can come in office to visit team as needed but not required.
- Pay Range: $40/hr. - $45/hr.
