We are seeking an experienced On-Site Service Engineer to provide hands-on support for enterprise data center and server environments. This customer-facing role focuses on maintaining system uptime, troubleshooting hardware issues, and delivering exceptional on-site technical support. Experience with AI infrastructure is a plus, but strong server and data center experience is the primary requirement.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site support for enterprise server and data center environments.
- Perform server installations, hardware upgrades, replacements, and repairs.
- Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and operating system issues.
- Replace and configure server components, including CPUs, memory, power supplies, GPUs, and complete server systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and respond to hardware failures to minimize downtime.
- Follow established support procedures and escalation processes.
- Document all service activities and technical findings accurately.
- Collaborate with customers and internal support teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in data center, field service, or enterprise server support.
- Hands-on experience with server hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience performing server builds, swaps, deployments, and component replacements.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical data center tasks.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Dell enterprise servers or similar hardware platforms.
- Experience with liquid/water-cooled servers.
- PC building or hardware assembly experience.
- Vendor certifications (Dell, CompTIA, or similar).
- Experience supporting AI or high-performance computing environments.
Additional Requirements
- Must reside within commuting distance of the work site.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including shift work and on-call support.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. or Canada for the duration of the assignment.
- Ability to obtain or hold a security clearance if required.
