We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to join our dynamic team at PTP. This role will be onsite, in Watertown, MA. Duration of the role will be approximately 12 months. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations for our clients in the life sciences sector. Your expertise will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to provide top-notch IT solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain server environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Implement and oversee virtualization technologies to optimize resource utilization.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in system administration.
- Assist in the design and implementation of new systems and technologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role in an IT environment.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows/Linux) and server management.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubunu, CentOS, Red Hat).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g. AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, KVM, ESXI).
- Solid understanding of T-SQL, APIs, and systems engineering principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
