Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Weld Helper to support our welding team in a fast-paced, industrial environment. The ideal candidate will assist welders in preparing materials, maintaining tools, and ensuring the work area remains safe, organized and clean. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in welding or skilled trades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist welders with setup, layout, and positioning of materials for welding operations.
- Operate basic tools and equipment including grinders, saws, and clamps.
- Clean and prepare metal surfaces for welding.
- Remove slag, excess weld, and spatter using hand and power tools.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
- Perform other general labor tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift 80 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Safety-conscious and reliable.
Additional Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- Familiarity with welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.)
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
