Job Summary
The Sub-Assembly Technician is responsible for prepping, assembling, and packaging component parts used in finished products. This role supports production operations by ensuring loose items and sub-assemblies are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prep, sort, and package loose components according to work instructions and production schedules
- Assemble small mechanical or component-based sub-assemblies using hand and power tools
- Read and interpret basic work instructions, prints, or blueprints (as applicable)
- Measure parts accurately using a tape measure or other measuring tools
- Inspect parts and assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
- Identify and report quality issues, damaged materials, or assembly concerns
- Follow established work processes, procedures, and documentation requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
- Adhere to all safety policies and company procedures
Required Qualifications
- General knowledge and safe use of hand and power tools
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused mindset
- Reliable attendance and punctuality record
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Willingness to comply with ISO 9001 processes and quality standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Blueprint or basic print reading experience
- Prior experience in assembly, manufacturing, or warehouse environments
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods
- Use hands for repetitive motion and fine motor skills
- Work in a manufacturing environment with noise, machinery, and varying temperatures
Work Environment
This position is performed in a manufacturing or production setting. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
Testing Requirement
All applicants considered for this position will be required to successfully complete a measurement test as part of the selection process.
