What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Designer position at PTG?
PTG is looking for a Graphic Designer who can take a rough idea or a pile of content and turn it into something polished, on-brand, and ready to go out the door.
Layout is the heart of the job. You will design presentations, sales and marketing collateral, social graphics, and campaign assets for a company that builds technology experiences inside physical spaces. A lot of the work involves making dense or technical information feel simple.
We are a small marketing team, so the work is varied and it moves. You will take creative direction and run with it, juggle a few projects at once, and make solid design calls without waiting for step-by-step instruction.
Responsibilities
- Design presentations, one-pagers, brochures, sell sheets, case studies, proposals, and campaign materials across print and digital.
- Turn complex or content-heavy material into clean layouts that are easy to follow.
- Create graphics for LinkedIn and other social channels and help make PTG’s social presence more consistent and engaging.
- Partner with HR to create engaging internal communications, employee-facing content, and company culture materials.
- Apply PTG’s brand guidelines consistently and help the visual system grow as the brand evolves.
- Adapt existing concepts into new sizes and formats without losing the original idea.
- Build and maintain templates for Marketing and Sales.
- Prepare final files for print and digital with the right specs.
- Manage several projects at once and communicate early about timelines and roadblocks.
- Keep working files organized and follow PTG’s naming and versioning practices so others can find and reuse what you build.
Qualifications
MUST HAVE
- 2 to 4 years of professional graphic design experience, or equivalent experience backed by a strong portfolio.
- A real command of layout, typography, hierarchy, spacing, and composition.
- Demonstrated experience designing professional, information-heavy presentations.
- Comfort working inside an established brand system and keeping things consistent.
- Experience creating social media graphics and digital campaign assets.
- The ability to move quickly without letting quality slip, and to know when to decide on your own versus when to ask.
- Strong attention to detail and clear communication.
- Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, plus Canva and PowerPoint.
- Availability to work onsite in Wixom three days per week.
NICE TO HAVE
- Motion graphics or animation, particularly After Effects. There is room to grow into motion and video work here.
- Video editing, especially Premiere Pro.
- Figma.
- Experience designing for B2B, technology, AV, retail, or hospitality.
- Engaging LinkedIn or B2B social content.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools such as Claude, and curiosity about using AI to sharpen creative workflows.
Portfolio
A portfolio is required and it matters a lot in this process. We want to see strong visual design, but we are just as interested in the thinking behind it. Presentation design, brand-driven work created inside an existing system, marketing collateral, and social or digital design are all especially useful to see.
We are less interested in purely conceptual or decorative work. Show us how you solve real communication problems, and be ready to walk through a few pieces and talk about the audience, the objective, and the decisions you made.
