Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that plant equipment, building infrastructure, utilities, and manufacturing processes operate safely, efficiently, and reliably while meeting quality standards. This is accomplished by planning, directing, and coordinating daily maintenance operations and leading a skilled technical team. The Maintenance Manager collaborates across all functional areas—production, engineering, safety, and quality—to support uptime, productivity, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organizes, executes, and continuously improves a robust preventative and predictive maintenance program, including project work, machine reliability, building and grounds upkeep, and critical systems maintenance.
- Provides day-to-day leadership and technical direction to the skilled maintenance technicians, ensuring timely troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Collaborates closely with Plant Operations, Safety, Engineering, and Quality to align maintenance strategies with production goals and safety compliance.
- Manages capital improvement projects, equipment installations, and machine upgrades in support of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee maintenance-related vendor relationships and service contracts, ensuring performance, cost control, and compliance.
- Maintains a well-organized and cost-effective maintenance parts inventory and storeroom, with proper usage tracking and procurement.
- Ensures employee training, technical certifications, and adherence to OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory requirements related to equipment, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical) or equivalent experience in Industrial Maintenance
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising or managing a maintenance department in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, PLC/automation systems, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting
- Proven experience working with metals manufacturing, fabrication equipment, CNC machinery, and industrial utility systems
- Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), root cause analysis, and maintenance KPIs (MTTR, MTBF, OEE)
- Demonstrated leadership, team development, and cross-functional collaboration skills
