Job Description: The Heat Treat Supervisor provides process direction to the operational activities of the Heat Treat Department with the objective of providing quality products with efficient and safe efforts; as well as, day-to-day leadership and good communication to all Heat Treat personnel, in addition to any other assigned departments.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure safe working practices are followed and all accidents, hazards, near misses and property damage are reported in the required time.
• Manages the heat treat process team.
• Maintain open and constant communication with the production and quality department.
• Maintain quality awareness and lean manufacturing of the heat treat department.
• Assist in the development, advice, publication and implementation of policies pertaining to Safety and Fire Prevention.
• Manage resources effectively to accomplish production goals in a timely manner.
• Ensure that production activities are carried out in accordance with industry, customer, and company requirements.
• Assess and identify training needs of technicians.
• Ensure all employees in department are properly trained and certified (where applicable).
• Instruct and supervise technicians assigned to processes under assigned control.
• Primary responsibility for monitoring and control of assigned processes.
• Suggest best courses of action for non-conformances and unexpected challenges.
• Obtain approval for disposition of non-conformances.
• Assist in development and implementation of preventive and corrective actions.
• Assist in validation of special processes.
• Ensure all production and inspection records are complete and accurate.
• Represent departmental interests as a liaison between Management, Maintenance, Warehouse, QA, and/or QC.
• Ensure production activities are carried out within budgeted machine and labor hours.
• Hold daily talks with technicians regarding workloads, methods, quality objectives and safety hazards.
• Provide positive re-enforcement and feedback to technicians.
• Ensure work area(s) are maintained in a clean and organized manner.
• Ensure transfer of knowledge between shifts.
• Provide appropriate disciplinary action to subordinates as required.
• May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Education: High School or equivalent
Years of Experience: 3-7 years’ experience in API OCTG Heat Treat Facility, as well as, an understanding of Metallurgical testing applications.

• Other Skills and Abilities: Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.
Operation and basic maintenance of gas-powered industrial furnaces. Familiarity with API 5CT products preferred. Must demonstrate familiarity with care and operation of basic gauges and measurement devices. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary : $80 - $110
