Burn Table Helper

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Helper to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will assist the burn table operator with day to day tasks. Responsibilities

• Assist with the loading and unloading of burn table.
• Clean steel parts with a grinder.
• Support the fabrication and assembly of metal and sheet metal components by using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate dimensions and quality standards.
• Help with material handling using forklifts and cranes, ensuring safe and efficient movement of raw materials, tooling, and finished products.
• Read and interpret technical drawings.
• Perform basic math calculations to verify measurements and dimensions during assembly and machining processes.
• Support quality inspection activities by checking parts with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and proper tool usage.
• Support the team in troubleshooting and resolving minor equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Follow safety procedures diligently, including proper use of PPE, crane operation, and handling metal plates and other materials.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on processes and safety practices.

Experience

• Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or machining environments is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Familiarity with operating a grinder and bevel is a plus.
• Knowledge of welding, sheet metal work, and tooling is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical knowledge, and quality inspection techniques is highly desirable.
• Ability to operate hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments accurately.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude are essential.
• Prior experience with forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment is beneficial.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions are important for success in this role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
