Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of burn table.
- Clean steel parts with a grinder.
- Support the fabrication and assembly of metal and sheet metal components by using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate dimensions and quality standards.
- Help with material handling using forklifts and cranes, ensuring safe and efficient movement of raw materials, tooling, and finished products.
- Read and interpret technical drawings.
- Perform basic math calculations to verify measurements and dimensions during assembly and machining processes.
- Support quality inspection activities by checking parts with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and proper tool usage.
- Support the team in troubleshooting and resolving minor equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety procedures diligently, including proper use of PPE, crane operation, and handling metal plates and other materials.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on processes and safety practices.
Experience
- Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or machining environments is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Familiarity with operating a grinder and bevel is a plus.
- Knowledge of welding, sheet metal work, and tooling is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical knowledge, and quality inspection techniques is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments accurately.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude are essential.
- Prior experience with forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment is beneficial.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions are important for success in this role.
