Requirements
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor?s Degree in related field and/or Masters Degree in Exercise Science
Valid State of Ohio Athletic Trainer?s License
Valid CPR Certification or ability to obtain upon hire
Essential Duties
Provides the athletes, coaches, and parents with education on the prevention and recognition of athletic injuries.
Is responsible for the recognition of athletic injuries and referral of the athlete to his/her family physician.
Advises parents, coaches, athletes and administration on matters pertaining to the status of the injured athlete. This includes cause of injury, need for a referral, progression of the athlete, care being given to the athlete, and approximate date of return to competition.
Is responsible for keeping and maintaining records of all injuries seen at the school.
Provides needed care, within his/her specific qualifications to do so, in an emergency situation until outside medical assistance arrives.
Abides by the laws and rules pursuant to sections 4755.60 to 4755.65 and 4755.99 of the Ohio Revised Code. Primary responsibility for the prevention, recognition, assessment, treatment, disposition and reconditioning of acute athletic injuries upon the referral of a practitioner.

Competent use of computer systems and software
Customer service skills for interacting and communicating with athletes and family members, coaches and school administration of diverse ages and backgrounds.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies
A calm manner and patience working with athletes and coaches
Maintaining patient confidentiality as per the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
Ability to multitask.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Possess a valid Driver?s License and reliable transportation
