Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Role Description The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will provide on-site, full-time outpatient counseling services at the Elkhart, IN location. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, providing individual, couples, and family therapy, and developing evidence-based treatment plans aligned with client goals. The counselor will maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, coordinate care with other providers as appropriate, and engage in regular case consultation and supervision as needed. The role also involves supporting clients in crisis, monitoring progress, and adjusting interventions to promote sustained improvement in mental health and overall well-being. Counselors are expected to contribute to a collaborative, client-centered environment that reflects the practice’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Mental Health and Psychology to provide clinically sound, evidence-based interventions.
• Candidates should possess competency in Relationship Counseling to work effectively with couples and families on interpersonal and relational concerns.
• Active state licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (or equivalent: LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or similar) in Indiana
• Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
• Experience providing outpatient therapy and working with diverse client populations across the lifespan.
• Strong clinical documentation skills, professional ethics, and adherence to confidentiality and regulatory standards.
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment, maintain appropriate boundaries, and demonstrate cultural humility.
• Comfort with occasional crisis intervention and use of de-escalation and risk assessment strategies.
• Relevant certifications, training in evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care), and bilingual skills are beneficial.
