About Our Practice
Psychological & Counseling Associates of the Lowcountry is an established group practice providing quality mental health care throughout the South Carolina Lowcountry. Our multidisciplinary team offers psychotherapy, counseling, comprehensive psychological evaluations, ADHD assessments, and other specialized services.
We are seeking associate-level clinicians, Licensed Master Social Workers, and psychology practicum students to join our growing team in Bluffton and Hilton Head. This posting is designed for professionals and students developing their clinical skills through supervised practice.
We welcome applications from:
- LPC-A: Licensed Professional Counselor Associates.
- LMFT-A: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associates.
- LAC-A: Licensed Addiction Counselor Associates.
- LMSW: Licensed Master Social Workers.
- Psychology practicum students: Students enrolled in PhD or PsyD psychology programs seeking an approved supervised placement.
Why Join Our Team?
Join a fun, fast-paced, collaborative work environment where you can develop your clinical skills, build meaningful professional relationships, and grow with an expanding practice.
We provide administrative, scheduling, and billing support, along with practice-generated referrals through established community relationships and an extensive online presence. This support helps clinicians build their caseloads and focus on patient care.
Our team values varied clinical interests, evidence-based treatment, flexible scheduling, and ongoing learning. There is room for growth within the company as you gain experience, progress toward independent licensure, and develop areas of specialization.
Applicants relocating to the Lowcountry are welcome. We can provide guidance with the South Carolina licensure and credentialing process.
Counseling & Assessment Opportunities
Team members may have opportunities to:
- Provide individual, child, adolescent, couples, family, or group counseling, depending on training, credential, and clinical interests.
- Assist with psychological and ADHD assessments, including clinical interviews, gathering background information, administering and scoring measures, and contributing to documentation, as permitted by training, scope of practice, test qualifications, and supervision requirements.
- Collaborate with supervising psychologists on assessment findings, treatment planning, and recommendations.
- Develop clinical interests and specialties with mentorship and professional development support.
- Participate in case consultation and collaboration with other members of our multidisciplinary team.
Psychological assessment assistance occurs under the direction of a licensed psychologist. Responsibilities are tailored to each team member’s qualifications and level of training, with the psychologist retaining responsibility for the psychological evaluation and final report.
Supervision & Professional Development
Weekly individual and group supervision opportunities are available, with arrangements tailored to each clinician’s credential, learning needs, and applicable licensing board requirements.
LPC-A, LMFT-A & LAC-A Applicants
Supervised clinical experience is structured around an approved supervision plan and an appropriately qualified, board-approved supervisor. Required approvals must be in place before clinical services or licensure supervision begins.
LMSW Applicants
LMSWs provide clinical services within a qualifying agency setting under the workplace oversight of an appropriately licensed professional employed by that agency, such as a South Carolina licensed psychologist. Oversight includes case consultation, review of clinical work, and guidance regarding assessment, treatment planning, and patient care.
Workplace supervision by a psychologist is separate from the formal supervision required for LISW-CP licensure. LMSWs pursuing independent clinical licensure must also establish a supervision arrangement with a Social Work Board-approved clinical practice supervisor. Position structure and supervision arrangements must meet South Carolina’s LMSW practice-setting requirements.
Psychology Practicum Students/Psychologist Post Doctoral Applicants
Practicum placements are coordinated with the student’s doctoral program and supervising psychologist. Clinical responsibilities, supervision, learning objectives, and evaluations are structured to meet program requirements and reflect the student’s demonstrated competencies.
For all practicum students and post doctoral students, there is both individual and group supervision provided weekly. Additional clinical trainings are provided throughout the year. Learning experiences for post doctoral applicants will be tailored to the individual applicant’s career goals. There is an opportunity to gain experience in the areas of individual therapy with a diverse population of clients, marriage and family therapy, psychological testing and neuropsychological testing.
