Role Description This part-time, on-site Medical Office Receptionist role is based in Nashville, TN.
We would like someone to work 3-4 days a week, 5-6 hours per day. The Medical Office Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients, greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and directing inquiries in a calm and professional manner. Daily responsibilities include scheduling and confirming appointments, checking patients in and out, collecting and recording patient demographics and coordinating communication between patients and physicians. The role also involves maintaining an organized front desk and waiting room area, handling patient paperwork and payments, and coordinating with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow. The receptionist will uphold confidentiality standards, follow office policies, and contribute to a welcoming and supportive environment for all patients.
Qualifications
- Strong Phone Etiquette and professional Receptionist Duties skills, including managing multi-line phone systems and greeting patients respectfully.
- Experience with Appointment Scheduling and Medical Office workflows, such as calendar management and patient check-in procedures.
- Knowledge of Insurance Verification processes and basic medical billing or patient eligibility checks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact sensitively with individuals receiving mental health services.
- Reliable organizational and multitasking abilities, including attention to detail and accurate data entry.
- Comfort with basic computer applications and electronic health record or scheduling systems.
- Prior experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in medical office administration is a plus.
