Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our healthcare team. The PMHNP will provide comprehensive mental health care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for patients with psychiatric disorders. This role involves working collaboratively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Diagnose mental health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with state regulations
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services as appropriate
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions and treatment options
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR)
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current, active Nurse Practitioner license in FL.
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- DEA license
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in psychiatric or mental health settings
- Experience with diverse patient populations
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms
- Bilingual skills are a plus
