What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metallurgical Technician position at PSMI?
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Responsible for routine metallurgical test and analysis on submitted or self-collected samples of substances used in products and manufacturing processes
- Makes decisions within the limits of general standards or procedures
- Works without continual supervision, but is frequently instructed and checked by supervisor
- Conducts appropriate chemical tests of process or production material
- Approves material meeting established criteria and reports exceptions Frequent contact with others outside the work group
- Operates metallurgical lab equipment to perform sample evaluations and related tests
- Assists with problem solving on manufacturability problems as they relate to metallurgical matters
- Maintains safety and good housekeeping standards.
Requirements
- Knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel) – Beginner level
- Knowledge with MS Outlook or other email communication tool – Beginner level
- Strong attendance record is a must
- Available to work weekend overtime
- Good interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross- culturally
- Good written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations. Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
- Partners with management to analyze and solve issues
- Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
