Our client is looking for a talented Revenue Accounting Manager to join their team in San Francisco on a full-time basis. This individual will be responsible for managing the Revenue Accounting Team and be accountable for overseeing the client invoicing process based on project completion by company engineers and staff. Invoicing is performed through the accounting database, and the resulting data is incorporated into multiple components of the corporate financial statements. The Revenue Accounting Manager will ensure all invoices are prepared in accordance with contract terms to support timely payment and maintain company cash flow. Also responsible for maintaining project accounting folders, which serve as financial and legal references for corporate projects. The salary range is $100,000 - $125,000 annually.RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for preparing invoices and recording general ledger transactions.Maintains all invoicing and project-related records.Manages, leads, and coaches the Revenue Accountant and designated Revenue Team members.Oversees the work produced by the Revenue Accountant and team, ensuring compliance with required standards.Trains and supervises employees involved in billing functions.Assists with employee performance evaluations.Reviews and enters contract information into the billing system.Ensures the accuracy and completeness of all data flowing into the billing system.Ensures department milestones and goals are achieved in alignment with company guidelines.Researches and resolves reinvoicing discrepancies and reconciles client accounts.Develops systems to monitor and track billing activity, including invoice rejections.Assists in researching and resolving assigned accounts receivable collection items.Reconciles project records with the accounting database.Manages the processing of Consultant Purchase Orders related to projects, including distribution to relevant parties.Manages communications and relationships with clients’ accounts payable departments.Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to project accounting, financial statement accounting, and project profitability.Analyzes accounting records to determine financial resources needed for project execution and provides recommendations for budget allocations to ensure compliance with budgetary limits.Provides guidance on project resource utilization, project budgets, project setup, and invoicing.Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Participates in preparing annual audit schedules.Performs various tasks assigned by Accounting Management and other leadership as needed.QUALIFICATIONS:3–5 years of managerial or supervisory experience in a similar role.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Strong background in project accounting, financial statement accounting, and project profitability.Demonstrated experience managing a function or team.Working knowledge of additional accounting areas, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.Familiarity with Deltek or similar accounting software.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high level of discretion.Capable of working with minimal supervision.Associate’s degree or higher preferred.Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable.Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.Strong attention to detail.Ability to act with discretion, tact, and professionalism in all situations.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., if able to do so.Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequentlyMust be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.All employment is contingent on candidates providing at least two positive professional references from prior managers.We are looking for local candidates only.
