The part-time Receptionist / Human Resources Assistant serves as the first point of contact for visitors, employees, applicants, customers, and vendors while providing administrative support to the Human Resources department. This position is responsible for maintaining a professional front office environment, assisting with HR processes, employee records, recruiting activities, training administration, and supporting company policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reception and Administrative Duties
- Greet visitors, applicants, customers, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls.
- Manage incoming and outgoingmail, packages, and deliveries.
- Order and maintain office supplies and forms.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, interviews, and company events.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and other administrative documents
Human Resources Support
- Assist with recruiting activities including posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding activities and orientation programs.
- Prepare new hire paperwork and maintain personnel files.
- Process employment verifications and other routine HR requests.
- Assist with employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and company events.
- Support compliance with company policies, employment laws, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Assist with audits, including maintaining documentation for quality and compliance requirements.
Manufacturing Environment Support
- Assist with safety training documentation and record retention.
- Maintain employee training matrices and qualification records.
- Support attendance tracking and reporting.
- Assist with temporary staffing coordination when needed.
- Help ensure employee documentation complies with company and customer requirements, including quality standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of administrative, receptionist, or HR support experience preferred.
- Manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of HR practices and employment documentation preferred.
