Strategic Business Development Manager
San Jose, California
pSemi (a Murata company) is seeking a Strategic Business Development Manager to accelerate adoption of our disruptive, highly differentiated power semiconductor technologies across priority markets including but not limited to high‑performance computing (HPC), consumer mobile, and datacoms.
The role focuses primarily on the North American marketing (with global reach as needed) and partners closely with Power Marketing, Product Line Managers (PLMs), Applications Engineering, and Sales (pSemi & Murata), including distribution partners and representatives. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Power, this position will build and own a scalable opportunity pipeline, drive design wins, and profitable revenue growth. Significant travel in North America and overseas is expected.
Responsibilities
- Own the power semiconductor opportunity pipeline; deliver measurable growth in qualified opportunities, design wins, and highly profitable, sizeable revenue.
- Promote pSemi’s power technologies at OEMs, primarily engineer‑to‑engineer, guiding prospects through evaluation and design‑in phases while addressing technical objections and identifying compelling application fits.
- Focus on scalable, sizeable applications in HPC, consumer mobile, and datacoms to extend the reach of our technology and open new market niches.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Power Marketing (PLMs, Marketing Director), Applications/Field Applications Engineering, Sales and management to translate market feedback into roadmap inputs and strategic direction.
- Plan and execute account penetration strategies from the lab bench to the C‑suite, working cross‑functionally within large organizations.
- Present technical content, from first principles to advanced power architecture discussions, to power architects and stakeholder audiences.
- Maintain coverage in North America while engaging international customers as needed; travel domestically and internationally as required.
Qualifications
- 10 years of strategic business development experience in the power semiconductor field.
- Proven success introducing and promoting new technology into high‑volume, high‑value markets (mobile, HPC, datacoms).
- Strong technical understanding of power conversion architectures, the competitive landscape, and industry dynamics.
- Demonstrated strategic BD capability, planning and executing penetration from engineer‑to‑engineer up to C‑suite, across complex organizations.
- Excellent presentation skills; comfortable leading technical discussions from fundamentals to advanced design architecture.
Education Requirements
- BSEE minimum (or other engineering field), MSEE or PhD in Power related field a plus.
