Job Summary
Director Utility Operation Services (UOS) provides leadership and strategic direction of various operational departments and functions inclusive of Materials and Logistics Management and Transportation Services . The Director UOS is responsible for the development and implementation of the UOS business plans and strategic initiatives designed to assure the highest levels of material availability and cost, lowest cost and most reliable fleet of vehicles and equipment. Responsible for the development of annual budgets across all departments that results in the lowest O&M cost for the client and the development of capital budgets particularly in the Transportation Services department for annual vehicle and equipment purchases and life cycle replacements. Responsible for leading the development of a material analysis and logistics management strategy that provides a high level of material availability while balancing it with the lowest cost per unit for the client. Responsible for translating operational forecasts from Projects and Construction and T&D operations into material demands to secure production agreements with key vendors. Responsible for oversight of all storeroom operations and logistics management including material staging areas for storm and emergency response. Responsible for the development of employees to ensure a high level of performance as well as high levels of employee engagement and retention.
Job Responsibilities
- Materials and logistics management including storeroom operations at 8 locations. Oversee and optimize all aspects of supply chain operations including developing and executing a comprehensive operations and supply chain strategy to support company's business needs.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and third party logistics providers to ensure operational efficiencies. Develop and implement scalable processes, systems and tools to ensure effective tracking and reporting of key supply chain and operational metrics.
- Manage risk across supply chain by developing contingency plans, forecasting potential disruptions and ensuring operational flexibility.
- Direct fleet/transportation and equipment maintenance activities for 1,600 assets across PSEGLI's 8 operating yards. Manage annual budget for maintenance operations and capital expenditures including the company's $250M ten-year replacement program.
- Ensure compliance with all vehicle and transportation regulatory requirements. Develop and lead the execution of a fleet electrification strategy to achieve 2030 NYS Climate Goals.
- Responsible for benchmarking and developing action plans of the UOS departments to retain top decile and top quartile scorecard results, as applicable and represent PSEGLI at industry level events/associations.
- Identifies continuous improvement and best practices initiatives in support of the utility to drive regulatory compliance, increased efficiency and lowest cost.
- Provide leadership to and development of the responsible functional teams. Provide accurate and timely feedback regarding performance and operations.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify opportunities for growth and learning for all personnel.
Job Specific Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of relevant work experience
- 8 year's experience managing workforce, experience leading bargaining workforce
- Broad general management skills with demonstrated experience in leadership, change management, financial management, business case development and performance management
- Strong business and financial acumen, with proven experience in measurement, benchmarking, data analysis and interpretation and the ability to turn analysis into action
- Demonstrated experience in challenging work practices and developing a Best in Class department
- Strong organizational, team and relationship building skills
- 8 years leading and directing bargaining unit associates in a multi-functional department with demonstrated experience in negotiations and in setting labor relations strategies
- Demonstrated ability to lead the development and manage to a key set of performance metrics to drive organizational efficiency
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to present to senior leaders
- Valid US Driver's license
- Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required

Salary : $161,200 - $264,900
