PSC Industries is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer / Plant Engineer for its Columbia, TN facility. The Continuous Improvement/ Engineer/ Plant Engineer is responsible to improve manufacturing and production processes using Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Techniques. Success in this position would produce measurable improvements to tact time, material flow, lower costs, and overall site metrics.
General Description:
· Lead C.I.P. Cost Analysis Review Team. Cost Reduction Program.
· Support customer activities. Process improvement goals and packaging proposals.
· PPAP submissions
· Supports Quality with root cause analysis and trouble shooting
· Conduct Time Studies
· Program CNC equipment
· Create tooling layouts. Order specialty tooling.
· Support Sales, Quality and Manufacturing goals.
Detailed Description:
· Follow the C.I.P. philosophy. Meet yearly cost savings goal. Involve employees with cost savings projects.
· Conduct LEAN APPLICATION projects (including Kaizen events, Kanban systems, 5S, Process Flow, Production Smoothing, etc.). These events will include basic levels of training for Plant Managers, Supervisors, and the hourly workforce with the focus solely on creating positive financial results for the organization.
· Collect information and data to report detailed information regarding facility’s production efficiencies.
· Initiate Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR) to maintain and improve performance of existing equipment including new equipment purchases to further efficiency gains for the facility.
· Ensure the efficiency and continuous improvement of business processes and manufacturing systems.
Requirements:
· Prefer Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering degree but will consider combination of experience and education.
· AutoCAD experience required.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
· Good written and oral communication skills.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
· Detail oriented.
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Background that includes exposure to Lean Mfg., Kanban, Kaizen, 5-S, and Six Sigma methodology
