Overview:
PSC Industries, Inc., a progressive and growing manufacturing organization, is hiring a Business Manager for our Louisville, Kentucky location. The Business Manager will be responsible for general supervision of all phases of plant operations including, but not limited to, production, materials, quality control, maintenance, shipping and receiving, daily P&L, R&D, purchasing/procurement, finance and accounting, and customer related sales along with business development.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Production:
- Tracking operating efficiencies
- Managing labor expenditures
- Reducing Scrap
- Continuously improving production through Kaizen events, Kanban systems, SMED workshops
- Strong adherence to 5S principles
- Define, research, and specify any new equipment needs
- Specify layouts for all new tooling requirements with a focus on material utilization and profitability
Quality/Service:
- Instill facility wide commitment to 100% on-time delivery of all products
- Implement, follow, and continuously improve corporate and facility QMS
- Consistently reduce annual PPM rate
Sales:
- Identifying new business, both organically and through new contacts
- Visit existing customers on a regular basis to maintain positive communication with OEM buyers, production leaders, design engineers and quality engineers
- Provide return of all requested quotes in less than 24 hours of receipt
- Identify opportunities for business development and process improvement to enhance service delivery.
Finance:
- Create cost and payback analysis for new capital asset requests
- Maintain facility asset list
- Manage profit and loss statements, analyzing financial data to inform decision-making and improve profitability
Safety:
- Demonstrate the leadership required to maintain an accident-free facility
- Safety-minded leader that will emphasize the importance of corporate safety programs
- Ability to recognize and correct safety issues in an urgent manner to reduce near-misses and injuries
- Facilitate monthly safety training for all employees per corporate and OSHA requirements
Materials and Inventory:
- Ensure inventory is maintained with a focus on 8 turns annually
- Ensure all BOMs are up to date and accurate per the costing process
- Ability to identify and specify new material requirements
- Negotiate with raw material suppliers to maintain a positive costing position
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred. An associates degree or some college with relevant experience will be considered.
- 8 years management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working within a documented quality system
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with Lean Application Technologies
- Operations understanding of ISO/TS 16949
- Ability to travel 25 - 50% of the time
Highly preferred:
- CAD experience preferred
- Understanding of OEM market drivers and pressures preferred
- Knowledge of converting processes and techniques preferred
