Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Site Civil Designer or Civil Engineer to join our growing Land Development team in Raleigh. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical abilities, a solid understanding of site design principles, and experience working on private or public land development projects within a consulting environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare site civil design plans, including site layout, grading, drainage, water, sanitary sewer, utilities, and erosion control
- Complete Stormwater Management Designs
- Develop construction documents, reports, and technical calculations
- Assist with permitting processes at local and state levels
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams
- Support design efforts for commercial, residential, and mixed‑use development projects
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- 5–7 years of experience in land development within a consulting firm
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required
- Strong understanding of grading, drainage, utility design, and site layout
- EIT certification required; PE license preferred or ability to obtain within 12–18 months
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
