Role Description The Mortgage Loan Processor is a full-time, on-site role based in Clarks Summit, PA. This role is responsible for managing mortgage files from application through closing, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include collecting and reviewing borrower documentation, verifying income, assets, credit, and property information, and preparing files for underwriting. The Mortgage Loan Processor will coordinate with loan officers, underwriters, closing agents, and borrowers to resolve conditions, obtain missing information, and maintain clear communication throughout the loan process. The role also involves updating loan systems, monitoring pipeline status, meeting deadlines, and supporting a positive borrower experience.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and familiarity with current regulations and best practices.
- Hands-on experience in Mortgage Lending and Loans, including different loan products and structures.
- Proficiency in Loan Processing, including document collection, file review, and pipeline management.
- Understanding of Underwriting basics, guidelines, and conditions to effectively prepare and clear files.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to work with borrowers and internal and external partners.
- Comfort with mortgage LOS software and standard office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, email systems).
- Prior experience as a loan processor, loan officer assistant, or in a related mortgage banking role preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is a plus.
