Job Summary:
We are seeking an individual to maintain, grow, and initiate business relationships with the end user customer, contractors, and architectural & engineering firms; through personal visits, telephone conversations, and other forms of media. This position is for a high performer in a fast paced environment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Procuring business
- Solicit new businesses (large/small commercial, industrial, agricultural, residential,
architectural / engineering firms, cold calls, prospecting, etc.).
- Become familiar with the businesses and individuals within those businesses.
- Collect all information necessary for quoting, including measuring openings, providing drawings, installations, and invoicing customer.
- Communicate extensively via telephone and email.
- Arrange visits to the client’s place of business, when necessary.
- Perform work tasks according to the client’s requirements.
- Respond quickly to customer inquiries and other communications.
- Troubleshoot any business-related problems, credit, delivery, etc.
- Follow-up with clients to ensure/assess satisfaction.
- Respond to RFQs timely and follow-up all quotes.
- Interpret specifications for product selection.
- Review and negotiate customer’s terms on the company’s best interest.
- Submit the materials to the client in a timely manner.
- Work with vendors to ensure the order ships on time.
- Ensure that the necessary paperwork is in order (job tickets, invoicing, etc.).
- Follow-up on any delivery / installation problems.
- This position requires both in office and field sales. Must know how to read a tape measure .
- This position will be required to assist with parts and answering incoming calls at times.
- Must be physically fit to assist in unloading weekly freight truck .
Basic Qualifications:
- Two-year degree in marketing, management, or equivalent work experience.
- Previous outside sales experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read specifications and drawings.
- Knowledge of basic math skills, including percentages and fractions.
- Understanding of measurements. Ability to do some computations on the spot/mentally.
- Knowledge of miscellaneous mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of the construction industry.
- Ability to read and understand industrial specifications and drawings/plans.
- Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.
- Ability to multi-task different projects/customers.
- Possess a positive customer service-oriented attitude. Strong organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for long periods, frequent typing on a keyboard, set-up of tradeshow displays.
- Job site visits may include heights, climbing ladders, scaffolds, variable weather, dirty or odorous environments.
Job Requirements:
- Must be available to work additional and/or different hours as needed.
Must be available for occasional travel, sometimes overnight or on weekends
- Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Pay: $35,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
