Role Responsibilities
- Conduct material and polymer characterization using techniques such as FT‑IR, DSC, TGA, SEM, XRF, and microscopy.
- Support manufacturing and R&D teams by analyzing raw materials, compounds, and finished products to resolve technical issues.
- Develop and refine test methods, SOPs, and material evaluation procedures.
- Interpret data, prepare technical reports, and communicate findings to engineering, quality, and operations teams.
- Participate in plant trials, troubleshoot material‑related problems, and recommend improvements to formulations or processes.
- Maintain lab equipment, ensure data integrity, and uphold safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with internal customers across multiple plants and business units to support ongoing projects and long‑term development initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or Materials/Polymer Engineering.
- Hands‑on experience with material or polymer testing and characterization.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a lab and plant environment.
- Clear communication skills for reporting results and partnering with cross‑functional teams.
- 2 years of industrial experience in materials, polymers, or related fields.
- Experience with cable, wire, plastics, extrusion, or compounding environments.
- Familiarity with advanced analytical tools (FT‑IR, DSC, TGA, SEM, DMA, XRF).
- Background supporting manufacturing troubleshooting or process improvement.
- Experience developing or updating test methods, SOPs, or material specifications.
