The EH&S Coordinator will be responsible to ensure that the environmental and safety aspects of the facility remain compliant, current and ever present in the manufacturing process.
Reporting to the North American EH&S Manager with a dotted line to the plant manager, the EH&S Coordinator is responsible for planning and directing the environmental and safety activities of the plant for the purpose of reducing and eliminating all work-related accidents, injuries or hazards by implementing a behavioral based, consequence thinking approach in the manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the North American EH&S Manager with a dotted line to the plant manager, the EH&S Coordinator is responsible for planning and directing the environmental and safety activities of the plant for the purpose of reducing and eliminating all work-related accidents, injuries or hazards by implementing a behavioral based, consequence thinking approach in the manufacturing environment.
Your day to day will include but not limited to:
- Prepare facility EPA SARA 312 and TRI (Form R) reports.
- Manage facility worker's compensation program.
- Perform Job Hazard Analysis and develop Job Safe Work Practices.
- Lead the facility Safety Committee and participate in the Global Safety Council.
- Conduct and direct Job Safety Observations throughout the facility documenting safe behaviors.
- Train facility associates in safety and environmental topics.
- Perform environmental function as site representative for the Perry County Local Emergency Planning Committee.
- Evaluate new raw materials for facility use considering safety and regulatory (EP A, TSCA, FDA, etc.) factors.
- Conduct internal EHS audits.
- Manage facility DOT hazardous materials and RCRA hazardous waste.
- Develop, revise and manage facility's written EHS compliance and associated training programs.
- Manage facility environmental permits.
- Manage all site security details including post orders.
- Manage facility incident investigations.
- Conduct industrial hygiene test and monitor for compliance.
- Perform all administrative duties of workers compensation claims including arrangements for prompt care and case management post accident.
- Required to operate in an ISO environment which may have specific requirements related to quality, safety, environmental or energy management.
- 3 - 5 years of environmental and safety background in a manufacturing environment.
- Certifications in hazardous Waste, HAZWOPER, norrs 16949 Auditing, DOT Hazardous Waste, First Aid/CPRIAED Certification, DOT Regulations, OSHNEPS Regulations and Reports, and Quality Control Statistical Analysis.
- Must have good attention to detail and the ability to manage the bigger picture and have a "make the numbers, . . . " mentality.
- Must be able to effectively manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day in and day out basis.
- Must be able to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement utilizing behavior based safety.
- Critical thinker with excellent analytical abilities.
- Good understanding of business principles and practices and ability to create financial solutions with a bottom-line result.
- Solid planning, budgeting, and administrative skills.
- High energy demonstrates urgency and fast pace.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively recruit and develop associates in a fast-growing organization highlighting safety and all awareness of safety procedures and processes.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Proven ability to develop fundamental training programs quickly and efficiently.
- Bachelor of Science in one of the following: Occupational Health & Safety, Biology or Chemistry preferred.
