Controls Engineer will manage and monitor all systems and infrastructure for this wire and cable manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an elevated level of knowledge of wire and cable equipment and processes.
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
- Install, configure, evaluate and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
- Develop, write, and de-bug control logic for machine control, make design modifications and improvements to complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Carefully and thoroughly document all control logic work. Keep existing documentation current and accessible to other team members.
- Prepare reports and provide feedback to management as required improving operations and machining reliability.
- Manage all assigned projects which include cost estimations, designs, specifications, approvals, procurement, installation, startup, cost control, safety and overall implementation to achieve Plant and organizational objectives.
- Develop and maintain control system and electrical drawings for the plant manufacturing systems.
- Analyze and interpret electrical schematics to the component level as required to make repairs and return equipment to operation.
- Utilize programming devices to analyze PLC programs for failures or improvements.
- Maintain detailed records of critical process variables and ensure that programs are logical and as comprehensible as possible.
- Provide direction to maintenance associates in troubleshooting, repair, and program AC/DC drive systems.
- Must be able to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical literature.
- Provide basic to advanced training to process engineers, maintenance associates and other personnel as needed.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS - Computer Science, Engineering or related degree.
- 5-10 years maintaining industrial application software and control systems.
- PLC programming. Wonderware is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of motor controls and drives (AC, DC and VFD) PLC and relay-based systems.
- Create/read/edit PID drawings.
