Position Description:
The Value Stream Manager for Glass (Core/Cladding) with be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the assigned process of Glass to achieve monthly Safety, Yield, Volume, and Efficiency targets for the unit and plant overall. Manage operating cost, quality and service while satisfying internal and external customer requirements. Responsible for all aspects of safety connected with the process and supporting people perform their roles in accordance with company policy and regulations.

- Follow all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines.
- Ensure that all Prysmian policies and practices are in place and observed with respect to safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Lead as a safety and PPE ambassador and by example for all staff.
- May handle hazardous materials/waste in accordance with environmental/safety system.
Quality:
- Implement and maintain Quality practices/procedures in the Process Unit to meet Prysmian standards and ISO 9000/ISO 14000 requirements.
- Serve as an ambassador for OBW and ensure all Glass methods are consistently followed across all shifts.
- Ensure all product meets requirements defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems.
- Coordinate corrective activities (i.e. OCAP’s) with safety, quality, engineering and maintenance.
- Active participation in the Operational Excellence Program via continuous improvement efforts to create an environment of ongoing yield improvements and meeting/exceeding daily, weekly, monthly output demands to meet customer needs.
People:
- Identify, motivate, train, schedule and retain qualified employees and team leads to meet Glass production needs.
- Drive Prysmian continuous improvement culture including Tier communication and leading Tier 1-2 meetings as needed.
- Help conduct 5-Why root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support preventative maintenance and 6S activities.
- Complete detailed shift reports including Leader Standard Work (LSW).
- Develop and update skills matrix and shift training plans.
- Promote positive cross-functional relationships and collaboration.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of Prysmian policies for personnel matters.
Delivery:
- Work with management to plan and coordinate shift staffing and production activities.
- Optimize reassignment of operators based on job priorities, WIP, and staffing changes.
- Ensure Glass production processes run smoothly and meet daily goals.
- Plan, organize and direct the process to ensure optimum equipment utilization, yield, and efficiency.
- Instill a focus on Glass OEE with shared ownership in meeting KPI goals.
- Monitor and prepare reports: safety performance, yield metrics, production plan vs actuals, turnover, efficiency by machine/shift/operator.
Inventory and Cost:
- Promote annual Employee Gainshare goals through scrap reduction and labor efficiency.
- Balance WIP and mix of ware between glass areas.
- Confirm raw materials are adequate per process.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 5 years management experience in a manufacturing environment encompassing production management, materials management, business systems, and quality control.
- Must be knowledgeable manufacturing process equipment, test, and inspection procedures, and MRP/MPS.
- Computer skills and interfacing with different software.
Preferred:
- Experience in ISO 9000/ISO 14000 certification and compliance.
- Experience with Office suite.
