Job Summary
PRW Laboratories is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Inter-Lab Coordinator. This role serves as the primary liaison between PRW Laboratories and partnered/reference laboratories, playing a vital part in managing outgoing case workflows and maintaining strong relationships with external labs and medical facilities. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, productive, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. They must communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and clients, and demonstrate a keen attention to detail in all aspects of their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Inter-Lab Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for partner labs, ensuring clear and timely communication.
- Workflow Coordination: Manage the intake and dispatch of specimens, slides, and reports. Ensure all samples are properly logged, tracked, and delivered.
- Data Entry & Case Accessioning: Accurately enter case information into the CoPath Laboratory Information System (LIS). Maintain high standards of data integrity and completeness.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor partner lab performance to ensure compliance with PRW’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Onboarding & Training: Support onboarding for new partner labs, including system setup and procedural training.
- Problem Resolution: Address issues such as specimen mislabeling, delayed results, technical inquiries, and billing discrepancies.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records of partner lab activities, agreements, SLAs, and performance metrics. Provide regular reports to management.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to enhance workflow efficiency and communication.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred. Focus in life sciences, histology, pathology, or medical related fields a plus.
- Experience: 1 years in an anatomic pathology lab setting or dermatology practice. Experience in client-facing roles is beneficial.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
- Familiarity with CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory standards
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Typing speed of at least 60 WPM required
Work Environment
This role is primarily office-based within an anatomic pathology laboratory. Occasional time in the lab may be required for specimen coordination. Minimal travel may be necessary. Exposure to biological specimens and chemicals is possible.
