Duties

• Lead and coordinate painting crew on various projects, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and repairing walls or structures before painting begins
• Apply primers, paints, stains, sealers, and specialty coatings using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools
• Estimate material quantities and labor needs accurately through construction painting estimating techniques
• Perform surface preparation for diverse materials including stucco, masonry, drywall, and wood trim (trim carpentry).
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to OSHA standards and safety protocols at all times
• Manage project timelines by coordinating with clients, contractors, and team members to meet deadlines
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure finished work meets company standards and client expectations

Skills

• Extensive experience in residential painting with a solid understanding of color theory for achieving desired aesthetic effects
• Proven expertise in commercial and industrial painting applications using various techniques including airless spray systems
• Strong knowledge of construction painting estimating processes for cost-effective project planning
• Proficiency with hand tools (brushes, rollers) and power tools (sanders, drills).
• Ability to perform surface preparation tasks such as plastering, caulking (for sealing gaps), stucco application, masonry work, concrete finishing, restoration projects, and fixture installation
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to material needs and project dimensions.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction painting environments including working at heights or on scaffolding
