Job Summary
Prugh Funeral Service is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our funeral home. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This position require a person who values integrity, accuracy, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry, and account reconciliations using QuickBooks, and funeral industry specific software
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Assist with providing insights through detailed account analysis
- Maintain thorough documentation of all transactions, journal entries, and financial reports for audit readiness
- General office duties as needed which may include answering phones
Requirements
- Proven experience with QuickBooks accounting software.
- Excellent computer skills including Excel.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger management
- Knowledge of paying sales tax is beneficial
- Ability to perform bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation accurately
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable management
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Must be a self starter
- Must value confidentiality
- Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with team members
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
