The Asset Liability Management (ALM) Treasury Controllers unit within the Corporate Controllers organization of Prudential Financial Inc. (PFI) is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting.
The Treasury Controllers unit is primarily responsible for PFI’s derivative reporting, analyzing and communicating actual and forecasted GAAP, Statutory (STAT) and AOI basis derivative results to senior management, Prudential businesses and external filings under applicable standards. The unit is also responsible for supporting strategic initiatives involving derivatives, associated AOI policies, reporting and analysis of international derivatives and foreign exchange (“FX”) activities, monitoring and analysis of company-wide cumulative translation adjustment (CTA), and Controllership of Prudential Global Funding (PGF), a subsidiary of PFI’s derivative transactions.

The salary range for this role is from $118,700.00 to $176,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.

What you’ll do:
- Production of external and management reporting (e.g. 10Q/10K disclosures) and analysis of GAAP and AOI results on a profit center basis and consolidated basis for PFI
- Supporting application of GAAP guidance to strategic initiatives involving derivatives
- Oversight of Hedge Accounting to ensure PFI meets necessary accounting criteria, including hedge documentation and effectiveness testing
- Ensuring all proper SOX controls are followed
- The position interacts and collaborates with various stakeholders across the organization (e.g. Investment Operations, CIO, Asset Managers, SEC Reporting, GAAP Consolidation, Corporate Consolidated P&A, ALM P&A, International Finance and P&A, PGF traders, and systems area supporting derivative etc.)
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA designation preferred
- Big 4 experience and MBA/CFA designation a plus
- Sound understanding of ASC 815, 830, 320 & other related pronouncements
- Experience of investments, derivatives and foreign currencies is a plus
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel
- Track record of financial reporting and analysis
- Strong sense of teamwork and ability to develop talent
