As part of the Strategy & Integration team, the Director, Communications Technology Innovation will report to the VP, Technology Innovation and Operations and lead the Communications AI acceleration agenda. This role is designed for a practical AI strategist, technologist and change catalyst with the ability to translate emerging AI capabilities into usable, trusted, scalable ways of working.

The Director will lead Communications' AI transformation agenda, accelerating the adoption of approved AI capabilities, developing repeatable AI-powered workflows, and establishing the governance, training and measurement needed to scale responsible AI across the function.

The current employee work arrangement for this position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What You Can Expect

• AI Strategy and Adoption Roadmap: Build and manage the Communications AI acceleration roadmap, advancing prioritized use cases from experimentation to scaled, governed, repeatable adoption.
• Practical Use Cases: Identify and scale high-value AI and automation use cases such as prompt libraries, AI-assisted workflow acceleration, GEO/LLM optimization, and reusable agents and intelligent decision-support tools.
• Governance and Enablement: Partner with Tech Innovation & Operations director and Global Technology & Operations, Information Security, Legal, Brand and Communications leaders to ensure tools are safe, approved, well-documented and easy for teams to use.
• Training and Adoption: Develop practical training, playbooks and change enablement that build confidence, increase adoption and help communicators apply AI to real work responsibly. Create a network of champions to support sustained adoption across teams.
• Technology Partnership: Partner across the broader Technology Innovation and Operations team and with Global Technology & Operations and vendors to ensure AI opportunities, translating communications needs into requirements, pilots and adoption priorities align with enterprise standards, platform roadmaps and approved technology investments.
• Impact Measurement: Track adoption, quality, productivity and user feedback to demonstrate where AI and CommsTech improve speed, consistency and capacity across Communications.
• Vendor and AI Solutions: Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and market trend, develop business cases for priority use cases, and recommend opportunities to improve communications effectiveness and productivity.
• Continuous Improvement: Use insights and feedback loops to continuously refine tools, workflows, and standards.
  
  

What You’ll Need

• 7–10 years of experience in AI enablement, marketing technology, digital innovation, communications technology, product management, automation or related transformation roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Communications, Business or a related field; equivalent applied experience with AI or CommsTech transformation may be considered.
• Practical fluency with generative AI, Copilot, LLMs, prompt engineering, automation and communications technology platforms, with the ability to translate tools into real communications use cases.
• Strong product and implementation mindset, including experience moving tools from pilot to adoption through requirements, governance, training, documentation and continuous improvement.
• Working knowledge of responsible AI, data privacy, information security, risk controls and enterprise technology integration requirements.
• Strong partnership skills with Technology, Information Security, Legal, Brand, vendors and communications teams, with the ability to make technical concepts accessible to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to lead change, build confidence in new tools, measure progress and balance innovation with practical governance and communications judgment.

What We Offer You

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $147,100.00 to $220,700.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
