Tool & Die/C & C Maintenance Associate

PRP is hiring a Tool & Die/CNC Maintenance Associate in Madison, AL for immediate placement!

PRP is paying weekly.

This position is a shorter term/6 month project only. This is a potential temp to hire position with a potential conversion to permanent hire after 6 month contract has been completed.

Shifts/Pay:

This will be a position that will rotate between Red shift & Blue shift. Prepare to have a rotating schedule over the entire 6 months of the project. Rotation is every 4 weeks.

Red Shift: 7:00am - 3:45pm CST

Blue Shift: 7:00pm to 3:45am CST

No one shift only request will be honored.

Daily and weekend overtime will be required, if needed.

Payrate will range between $46.00-$52.00/ hour based on experience.

A current resume will be required to apply.

Preference of a Journeyman Tool and die certificate or 8 years of prior experience is preferred.

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool & Die/CNC Maintenance Associate to join our manufacturing team. This role is essential for maintaining the precision and functionality of tooling, dies, and CNC machinery critical to our production processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, extensive experience with machining and fabrication (being able to utilize equipment such as the CNC mill, lathe, grinder and various other hand tools), and proficiency in CAD/CAM software. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality manufacturing operations through expert maintenance, troubleshooting, and tooling development.

Duties:

• Modify parameters on stamping related equipment such as the try out press, production press, welders, CNC mill, etc.
• Do preventive maintenance and troubleshoot, do repairs on tooling, dies, and CNC equipment including CNC lathes, milling machines, stamping presses, and fabrication tools releated to the Tool and Die field.
• Operate precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and other gauges to verify dimensional accuracy in accordance with GD&T standards.
• Fabricate or modify tooling parts using hand tools, welding techniques, and fabrication equipment while adhering to schematics and technical drawings.
• Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, schematics, and machine calibration records to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot issues related to stamping presses, ensuring minimal downtime.

Skills:

• Experience working in a Tool and Die role that maintains stamping dies. Must be able to use techniquest such as die spotting, punch fitting/entry, formability improvements and the ability to use related hand tools.
• Knowldege of sheet metal forming, trimming, piercing, glanging with a basic experience of metallurgy in sheet metal.
• Experience programming CNC machines including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines using CAM software.
• Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing machinery, schematics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges accurately.
• Competence in reading technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for fabrication or repair tasks.
• Experience working with stamping presses or other metal forming equipment is advantageous.
