CDL Dedicated Local Delivery Driver

We are hiring a Dedicated Local Delivery / Shuttle Driver to support local customer operations. This position is a home-daily driving role responsible for moving freight between assigned customer locations, warehouses, distribution centers, and/or scheduled stops within the local market.

Drivers in this role should be comfortable with short-distance shuttle routes, multiple daily stops, customer-facing delivery expectations, and safely operating in busy industrial, warehouse, and yard environments. This position may include freight touch, loading/unloading support, and delivery-related physical work depending on customer needs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Safely operate company equipment on assigned local routes, shuttle moves, and delivery stops.
• Transport freight between customer locations, warehouses, distribution centers, and other assigned local sites.
• Complete scheduled pickups, deliveries, shuttle moves, and drop-and-hook assignments as directed.
• Deliver freight to assigned stops while maintaining professional communication with customers and site contacts.
• Hook, unhook, drop, and position trailers safely and accurately.
• Assist with freight handling as needed, including loading, unloading, pallet movement, securing freight, and delivery support.
• Maneuver trucks and trailers safely in active yards, docks, warehouses, industrial sites, and customer delivery areas.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report equipment defects, damage, or safety concerns.
• Ensure equipment, freight, and route activity comply with company, DOT, customer, and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, delivery paperwork, electronic records, and other required documentation.
• Identify and report workplace hazards, unsafe conditions, delivery issues, or equipment concerns.
• Follow all company policies, customer site procedures, and safety expectations.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

• Ability to safely operate tractor-trailer equipment in local delivery, shuttle, yard, and dock environments.
• Ability to follow assigned routes, delivery instructions, customer procedures, and site-specific requirements.
• Good time management skills with the ability to stay on schedule in a local route environment.
• Strong communication skills with dispatch, site leadership, customers, and team members.
• Ability to operate a two-way radio, phone, tablet, ELD, or other communication/electronic logging equipment as required.
• Good hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and backing skills.
• Ability to work independently while following company and customer expectations.
• Professional, dependable, and customer-service focused.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, push, pull, and lift throughout the shift.
• Ability to enter and exit tractors, trailers, docks, and customer delivery areas safely.
• Ability to perform coupling and uncoupling of trailers, including handling landing gear, airlines, electrical lines, and trailer doors.
• Ability to inspect equipment, secure freight, and complete delivery-related physical tasks.
• Ability to lift and move freight or delivery-related items as required by the customer operation.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and active industrial, warehouse, and delivery environments.
• Ability to safely perform freight touch duties, which may include loading, unloading, pallet movement, and delivery support.

Experience and Education Requirements:

• Minimum 18 months, verifiable over-the-road experience in the past 5 years, of which 12 months must be within the past 3 years that is similar experience
  • May substitute local for over-the-road experience
• Experience backing 48' to 53' trailers (including in tight spaces and to dock doors)
• This position must pass pre-hire background and drug test

Position Type: 

• This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position
• Hours worked over 40 hours in 1-week qualify for overtime (paid time and a half)
