What are the responsibilities and job description for the MLT/Laboratory Technician (Part-time) position at Proximity Lab Services?
We are seeking (1) Part-time Lab Technician to perform patient testing for our Clinical Lab on Saturday and as needed during the week.
Minimum Requirements:
An associate's degree or higher in a chemical, physical, or biological science. Preferred candidates must have previous laboratory experience. Chemistry, Immunoassay and Hematology Analyzer experience is preferred.
Must be highly motivated and detail-oriented, demonstrate effective time-management skills, as well as have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be dependable.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and follow proper laboratory safety protocols for handling chemicals and biological fluids, including wearing proper protective equipment.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations concerning the confidentiality of patient information.
- Accession and aliquot patient samples following laboratory protocols.
- Become familiar with the laboratory information management system and enter patient demographics without errors.
- Properly prepare reagents and solutions.
- Work well as a team with other laboratory staff and management.
- Inform supervisors of improper lab practices or errors.
- Perform any additional duties required of this position as new methods and procedures are developed.
Experience: Laboratory: 1 year (Preferred)
Education: Bachelor's (Preferred)
