About the job
Prox is a fast-growing grocery savings startup helping shoppers save money by making smarter grocery decisions. We’re building tools that make it easier for consumers to compare prices, discover deals, optimize baskets, and save on the products they already buy.
We’re looking for two unpaid Software Engineering Interns to join our mobile app team and help improve the Prox app experience.
These are hands-on roles for students or early-career builders who want real startup experience working on a live consumer product.
About the Roles
We are hiring for two distinct internship tracks:

- Testing app behavior across devices and screen sizes
- Working with product/design teammates to ship user-facing features
- Helping improve the overall quality and usability of the Prox app
Role 2: App Engagement & Product Analytics Intern
This intern will focus on understanding how users interact with the app and identifying opportunities to improve activation, engagement, retention, and conversion. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tracking where users drop off, where they engage most, where they experience errors, and what product changes could improve the user journey.
You may work on:
- Defining and implementing app engagement events
- Tracking user drop-off points across onboarding, search, deals, cart, recipes, and checkout flows
- Identifying where users engage most and where they fail to complete actions
- Helping build dashboards or reports around user behavior
- Recommending product improvements based on data
- Supporting experiments, retention loops, and engagement-focused product features

- Build and improve mobile app features
- Implement front-end screens and flows
- Support app testing, release readiness, and deployment
- Add analytics events and user behavior tracking
- Analyze user journeys and identify friction points
- Work directly with the founder and product/design teammates
